Job Title: Civil Engineering Technician
Vacancy: 2 positions
Job Type: Full-time (40 hours/week), permanent position
-Prepare civil design plans, sections, details, and schematic/concept
drawings using AutoCAD and/or Autodesk Civil 3D on land development,
commercial and industrial design projects.
-Interpret design and IFC drawings, as well as material and construction
specifications for execution projects that have been engineered by others.
-Participate in field topographic and construction surveying and prepare
notes, sketches, maps, and cross sections to provide data for engineering.
-Coordinate construction activities on construction sites including piling, fill
placement, compaction, and deep and shallow foundation construction.
-Prepare RFI (Request for Information) forms and submit to engineering
for resolution of technical issues during construction.
-Monitor Geotechnical material testing including soil, aggregate, asphalt,
concrete, advanced soil sampling, compaction and pile testing to provide
quality control in accordance with design and sampling/testing
specifications.
-Assist in seismic exploration and geophysical prospecting and
communicate findings with work of engineering personnel, clients, and
others concerned with projects.
-Contribute to the development of proposals and project scope and
estimate takeoffs for bid opportunities.
Employment Requirements:
- Completion of college certificate or diploma in Civil Engineering
Technology.
- Experience is an asset
- Proficient using AutoCAD, Autodesk Civil 3D, Microsoft Office and
Outlook
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and demonstrate a flexible approach to
work assignments
- Willingness to be a team player with a strong ability to work
independently
