Progent offers co-sourced services by working closely with a customer's IS group or can provide comprehensive IS outsourced services.
As a member of our Network Operating Center (NOC) team, you will work with a variety of clients to maintain and remotely support current Windows server and desktop software. You will provide support to non-technical staff as needed; organize and maintain help desk tickets using the appropriate tools, respond to e-mail and phone requests for support from NOC clients.
The Senior Engineer will troubleshoot application problems including desktop application integration issues, server problems, data service issues, and connectivity problems, without physical access, should the client environment allow.
Work Location: Work from home, virtual office infrastructure.
Hours: Monday-Friday Pacific Standard Time.
•Support and troubleshoot current Windows versions of server, desktop and laptop computer systems and others as needed.
•Work remotely to diagnose and resolve both emergency and chronic problems related to availability, security, performance, connectivity, and overall functionality.
•Ability to rapidly install setup and configure Windows-based application servers.
•Configure and deploy current Windows workstation environments.
•Support and manage Microsoft Outlook with back-end Exchange server, Microsoft Office suite, phone communications, and high-speed Internet connection.
•Plan and implement migrations to current Windows versions and Exchange /Active Directory technologies, as applicable.
•Maximize system availability and performance through fault-tolerant configuration, efficient network architecture, and proactive server monitoring.
• 7 years experience in server administration
• Strong technical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills, ability to implement quick workarounds to technical problems
• Extensive experience in business software support on all Windows platforms and Microsoft Office Suite
• Familiarity with remote monitoring tools and remote troubleshooting techniques
